In August of 2007, a few of us PatsRoadTrip.com guys organized this tailgate party for the Jimmy Buffett show at Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots. In this experienced tailgater's opinion, this was one of the best tailgate parties in the history of the world. We had a professional DJ to provide music for a large portion of the lot. At one point there were hundreds of people dancing the day away at our tailgate party. Enjoy the pictures from Jimmy Buffett tailgate party 2007, Foxborough, Massachusetts. (If you see yourself or someone you know in any of the pictures and want to be credited, send me an email and let me know where you are!)
Waiting for the charter bus in the Walpole Mall parking lot in Walpole, Mass.
Steve enjoys a refreshing beverage.
The bus has arrived.
Steve supervises the loading of the bus.
Brett was one of the main organizers. He did a great job.
Waiting to get underway.
Still sitting in the parking lot.
Another shot of the gang awaiting departure.
Opie and Robyn attach parrots to their hats.
I think Opie's parrot is dead. This is a dead parrot!
Ellen's having a great time and the bus still hasn't left the parking lot! That's Pat's road tripper, Bill M. in the lower right corner.
John W. and Steve B.
Now we're in the parking lot at Gillette Stadium starting to set up for the tailgate party.
It's not an easy process when you're setting up a tailgate for 50 people.
There's a DJ under that blue canopy on the far right. He did a great job keeping the music going all day.
If we could do it over again we'd have a bigger grill.
Ellen M. and Bonnie B.
Still working on getting things up and running.
Almost done!
The parking lot is still filling up.
All set up now, just waiting for the party to really get going.
Things are beginning to pick up.
Some people are getting their rest before the heavy drinking starts.
Among some other Parrot Heads here are Jill S. (second from left) and Angel S. (third from left).
Julie, Steve, Robin and Ron.
Here's our DJ Chris G. with his wife Tracey (glasses) and Kathleen. Chris came up from New York to hook us up with some tunes.
Kathleen and Chris G.
Ron, Ralph & Joe.
Chris worked hard all day.
Things seem to really be getting going now.
Brett painted up this dart board.
Opie checks to make sure the dart board meets ADA standards. As you can see here and in the following photos, each quadrant of the dart board represents a different kind of shot. Wherever the dart lands, that's what you drink.
Polly want a 'Bama Breeze?
We made up the "Boat Drinks" drink. Something with rum and fruit juice. The rest are self explanatory.
There was one catch. If you missed the board...well...use your imagination. Let's just say we didn't enforce the rules on the guys.
Bruce and a currently unknown woman.
Here are Pat D. and Sarah enjoying the day in the sun.
Here's Rob G. He's our DJ's brother.
Sarah & Tracy.
Pat D.
Chris and Tracy.
Sarah has a beautiful smile, doesn't she?.
I think I was just leaning down to pick something up. I don't think I was dancing. I don't dance.
Ralph & Ron.
Ralph's brave enough to walk behind the dart board.
Sarah and Donna G. hold the limbo bar for an unknown reveler.
Sarah again.
Lower and lower we go.
Ron's gettin' mugged by Tracy G.
Well, at least somebody got lucky!
Chris still hard at work.
Rob is still enjoying the day.
Sarah and Pat.
Chris G. shows 'em how it's done in New York!
Ron, Ralph & Joe again.
Tracy takes a picture while Mary and Donna pose for one.
Liz is dancing up a storm! (Video coming soon)
Here are John R, Chris V. and Bruce M. In front is Steve B.
Mary and Ron (Brett's mom and dad).
Brett and Matteo.
Steve and his lovely wife, Julie.
Unfortunately, this is the only picture with actual exposed breast. Thanks for that, Uncle Joe.
Joe, Donna & Mary wave at the camera.
Pat and Chris G. keepin' the music going.
Nice bus!
Ron's makin' another margarita.
Revelers dance to the tunes of Chris G!
Pink is a pretty color.
Looks like someone just missed the dartboard!
Hank, the party's out here, not in the bus!
Ooooh. I hope she misses!
I guess not.
The lady in white celebrates her victory over...well...exposure.
In back are Ron, Jill, Mary and Sarah. Up front are Ralph and Kathleen.
That's a big margarita!
Now we're talkin'!
Chicks in tube tops! YES!!!! That's Jill on the right. Who's on the left?
A shot of the crowd. We kept the cops at bay by giving them Fla-Vor-Ice. It was hot that day.
Chris takes a much deserved break to enjoy a beverage.
This was Chris' view all day long.
Not too bad.
How do I get this gig?
Everybody dance!
Good crowd going now.
Matteo gives the crowd a cool shower.
Quite the party going on.
This represents about 1/2 of our party.
Here's a shot showing Boat Drink Avenue.
People everwhere!
Chris got very little rest but he kept smiling all day.
Here's Pat and Tracy.
Mary & Donna.
Wasted away again in Margaritaville!
More fun in the sun.
Here are Pat and Joe.
The dart game continues.
Bob and Joyce P.
Steve's slingin' burgers and dogs. Steve also enjoys dancing to the disco classics. Click the link to see Disco Steve!
Curious George must be looking at some of the pretty girls in their grass skirts! Either that or one of them just missed the dart board. Oh, I'm sorry, that's his tail!
It's...
...Julie, someone I don't know & Jill.
Julie and Matteo sharing secrets.
Have a cigar, Jill.
"Don't mind if I do!"
A couple of unknown revelers enjoy the party.
Someone wasn't concentrating on the party.
John W. and this contestant discuss the rules of the dart game.
Our guest pleads her case.
Okay, who's in charge of the camera?
There were a mess of people at our tailgate party.
Liz sticks out her tongue. I've told her not to do that unless she plans to use it!
I can see Tom in the middle of all these lovely ladies!
That young lady in the pink top threw about 100 darts at the board. She didn't miss once. Damn her!
Pat, Sarah and Rob take a break.
Ellen is even more energetic than she was on the bus!
Dennis D., Chris V. and Joyce P. enjoy a group hug.
This would seem to be a classic case of gender confusion. If it weren't a Buffett party, that is.
Aw, she's just braggin'!
Bill M. (right) found his near twin among the crowd.
Wendy M. enjoys the moment with a Red Stripe.
Here's our DJ Chris G. still hard at work.
More general margarita mayhem.
A shot from the roof of the bus.
I like the parrot glass.
The police were never really very far away.
Another roof shot.
That's Tom M. talking to Holly S.
Some kind of dart game rules violation is being discussed here.
Old Glory goes wherever we go.
Nothing but RVs, tents and parrot heads between here and the stadium.
I think this gives you a good sense of what most of the day was like.
Who kept climbing up on the roof?
This group brought their own roof deck.
Getting dark...almost time to head into the show.
Someone's had one too many Coronas!
This is actually about all I remember from the actual show. But who really goes to a Jimmy Buffett show for the music anyway?
I love Gillette Stadium but not for a Buffett show.
Revelry in the stands.
Bob's had enough. "Get that camera out of my face!"
