The 2005 season opener was an opportunity for the fans to
celebrate yet another Superbowl Championship earned when the Patriots beat the
Philadelphia Eagles in Superbowl XXXIX by the score of 24-21. The new championship
banner was unveiled for the Gillette Stadium faithful prior to the game. The
Patriots then rolled to yet another victory over the vistiting Oakland Raiders, 30-20. |
